Designed as a facility fundraiser for PAWS - Paradise Animal Welfare League, this weekly calendar features some of Crested Butte's most memorable mutts. The project was the inspiration of Crested Butte resident and lifelong dog lover, Liz Currier. It was just by chance that I got involved in the project. Liz called me last spring after being referred to me by a friend and asked if I would be interested in working on the project. I'd never met Liz, but in that phone call, through the sheer force of her enthusiasm and personality, I agreed to work with her on this project. We found that we worked well together, became good friends and laughed over lots of dog pictures. My personal favorites are: Maude Dodd, June 13-19, Sam Fudge, Nov/Dec 28-4, and . . . . . . my girl Millie, Nov 14 -20.
Liz did ALL (and I mean ALL) of the leg work, sold calendar spots, found sponsors and sales outlets, took jillions of pictures and made sure it all came together. I did the design and layout. We both donated our time. With sales, sponsorships and other generous donations, the project raised over $20,000 for the PAWS! That's ending a year on a howlin' high note!
